Influenced by both the positive and negative aspects of When Harry Met Sally, this piece explores the Westernization of food and our fragmented relationship with it.

Researching this dynamic led Kevin to investigate two key concepts in his design: separation and connection.

Kevin used these elements to create a piece that exists somewhere between ancestry and functionality. The gentle curves and earthy brown palette of the bowl aim to honor Black and Brown bodies, while the distinctive glaze subtly references our organs—an intimate nod to the body, its systems, and the shared humanity that unites us all.

Though this bowl is functional and can be used daily, its true purpose is as an art piece and an artist's statement against false narratives and lazy racism.
